I apologize to my loyal fan base for my lack of recent posts. The delay is due to the following excuses in no particular order:
- Nothing interesting has happened
- For every 3 keys I press on a keyboard when posting the boy has to press 14
- I am attempting to gain more internet points by generating interest through feigning disinterest
- The boy disemboweled the laptop that I normally use to post
We join our hero on his adventure already in progress..
Since we left off I decided to spend an hour of quality time with the Jeep. I’m very very slowly prepping to remove the rusted body from the rusted frame. I pulled the seats which as you can see, did not require removing all bolts. The tub of this beast is made up of steel, bondo, and fiberglass.
The fiberglass holds the steel together and the bondo covers the whole mess. I really don’t know if the tub is salvageable – but for the low low price of about 6 grand shipped I can replace the whole damn thing with an aluminum tub!
Best I can tell I’m moving slow for 3 reasons: I have no idea how I’m going to remove the body, I have no idea where I’m going to store the body, and I have no idea how I’m going to fit the frame in the red shed. I need another shed.. thinking harbor freight canopy.
While I give that a good thinking, here are some photos from this weekend’s family fun fest and barn burning!
